Vegan Aronia Protein Balls
You like to buy or even harvest local superfoods instead of superfoods and powders which traveled around the globe to reach your table? Well, then let me introduce you to this little power berry: Aronia berries contain higher levels of antioxidants, ployphenois, and anthocyanins than cranberries, blueberries, grapes, and most other fruits. They grow in norther climates and can be harvest in late spring time in forrests and wild gardens. Their taste and color remind me of the Acai Berry from Brazil, which is one of the most well-known superfoods world wide. I use Aronia in dried and powdered form to sweeten up smoothie bowls, give a great color to smoothies or to enrich cakes, cookies and other sweet treats with their refreshing, slightly sour taste. This recipe for Bliss Balls, is as most of my recipes quick and really easy to make. Vegan - Gluten free - Cruelty free - Sugar free

YOU NEED:
for aprx. 15 balls
1 cup Gluten free Oats
1/2 cup Homemade Peanut Butter 1/2 cup Agave Syrup
100g Dark Vegan Chocolate
2 tablespoons Flax Seeds
2 tablespoons Chia Seeds
50g Aronia Powder
50g Maca Powder
50g Vegan Protein Powder ( Vanilla or Choco)
for the topping: 100g Coconut Flakes
THE MAKING:
Take a big bowl and pour the oats, flax seeds and chia seeds in
Add Aronia and Maca powder, and the protein powder
Take a pot and warm the peanut butter, the chocolate and the syrup
Heat the ingredients up slowly, so the donut burn. They have to melt to an even mass
Add the melted mass to the oats and mix it with your hands to an even dough
Take a bit of the dough and form it to balls in the size you wish
Roll the balls in the coconut flakes and leave on a clean plate
Store the balls in the fridge over night before eating
MY EXTRA TIP:
For an extra kick of energy you can add 1 freshly brewed espresso to the dough and these
balls will turn into real energy balls. They will stay well in the fridge for around 8 days
